Shufti Pro Identity Verification

I spent two years building Shufti Pro, a KYC and identity-verification platform serving 158+ countries. I built the document-annotation tool that labelled training data for its OCR and computer-vision models, real-time video verification with Twilio and WebSockets, and a React Native verification SDK published to npm.

[ Overview ]

Shufti Pro is a KYC and AML platform that verifies identities remotely for businesses in 158+ countries, using OCR and computer vision to check identity documents and faces.

I worked on it from August 2019 to September 2021 through Programmers Force as a full-stack developer, building the tools behind its verification models, the live video verification experience and its mobile SDK, alongside Vue.js and backend work across 11 client projects.

[ My role ]

  • Built the internal annotation app the data science team used to label identity documents.
  • Delivered Twilio browser calling and real-time video verification.
  • Published and maintained a React Native identity-verification SDK on npm.
  • Developed Vue.js applications and contributed to Laravel/PHP, Node.js and Python backends across 11 client projects.
